El post de hoy es un tanto "friki", no me quiero engañar a mí misma... Pero como es uno de mis grandes descubrimientos londinenses, no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de mostraroslo.

Os presento el agua con sabor a fresa. Mejor dicho: el mejor agua con sabor a fresa del mundo. Os pueso asegurar que no es nada comparable con lo que venden en España. Esta de verdad te quita la sed y te deja un refrescante sabor aromatizado.

Si hay algo que siempre me llama la atención de las ciudades que visito son las farolas que me voy encontrando por el camino. ¿Alguna vez os habéis parado a observarlas? A mí es algo que me encanta y, además, no puedo parar de fotografiarlas :p.

If there is something that always catches my attention in the cities I visit is that I'm finding streetlights along the road. Did you ever stop to notice you have? To me it is something I love and also I can not stop photographing.

De Londres, como os podréis imaginar,  tengo millones de fotografías de farolas y como todas me parecen ideales os las quiero ir mostrando poco a poco. Parecerá una estupidez, pero a mí me encanta pararme a observarlas y pensar en qué se ha inspirado el que las diseñó y qué significado pueden tener.

In London, as you can imagine, I have millions of photographs of streetlights and like all ideals I think are going to show you love them slowly. It may sound stupid, but I love to stop and observe and think about what has inspired you designed them and what meaning they may have.

Además, charlando el otro día con uno de mis nuevos amigos (uno de los que siempre viene a saludarme a la Coffe Shop) aquí en La City, me dijo que observar las farolas es algo que denota positividad, pues siempre andas mirando hacía arriba y no cabizbajo. Sea o no cierta esta teoría extraída de las largas charlas con un café en la mano, yo no puedo dejar pasar desapercibidos estos luminosos complementos de la ciudad.

Talking the other day with one of my new friends (one who always comes to greet me at the Coffee Shop) here in The City, told me to watch the street lamps that denotes something positive, because you're always looking up and head down . Whether or not this theory extracted from long talks with coffee in hand, I can not pass unnoticed these bright additions to the city.

La curiosidad mató al gato y yo no he podido evitar esta mañana disfrutar de un día rodeada de gente borracha y con ganas de fiesta. Al final, he sucumbido y he ido a Notting Hill a ver los carnavales (para una vez que estoy aquí, no me los podía perder, no?).

 ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Curiosity killed the cat and I have not been able to avoid this morning enjoying a day surrounded by drunk people and wanting to party. In the end, I succumbed and went to Notting Hill to see the Carnival (for once I'm here, I could lose, right?).

El Carnaval de Notting Hill se celebra cada agosto desde 1966 inundando las calles con el colorido, el olor y la juerga de la tradición caribeña.

Notting Hill Carnival is held every August since 1966, flooding the streets with color, smell and Caribbean tradition spree.

Comenzó como un festival local creado por la comunidad de las Indias Occidentales de la zona de Notting Hill, y ahora se ha convertido en un festival de pura raza del Carnaval caribeño que atrae a millones de visitantes de todo el mundo. Carrozas sorprendentes y sonidos de bandas de tambores tradicionales de acero, decenas de sistemas de sonido y  cientos de puestos que se alinean en las calles de Notting Hill. El Carnaval de Notting Hill es sin duda uno de los más emocionante eventos anuales en Londres.

Starting its life as a local festival set up by the West Indian community of the Notting Hill area, it has now become a full-blooded Caribbean carnival, attracting millions of visitors from all over the globe. The Notting Hill Carnival is arguably London`s most exciting annual event.

Y gracias a que hoy es el Bank Holiday Monday, yo he tenido mi día OFF porque hemos cerrado el Coffe Shop y he podido bailar al ritmo de las charangas brasileñas. Aunque, qué queréis que os diga, me esperaba otra cosa: más disfraces, más baile y menos borrachos y culos celulíticos de chicas pasando frío. Me he pasado la mañana reflexionando sobre el hecho de que siempre que hay un evento anual de estas caractérísticas, la sociedad se lo toma como "el día en el que se puede beber libremente en la calle, llevar la cara pintada, fumar cuanto más mejor y sobre todo, tocar las bubucelas hasta no poder más".

And because today is the Bank Holiday Monday, I've had my day OFF because we have closed the Coffee Shop and I can dance to brass bands in Brazil. Although, do you want me to say I was expecting something else: more costumes, more dancing and less cellulite`s girls going cold and ass drunk. I spent the morning reflecting on the fact that whenever there is an annual event of its kind, the company takes it as "the day you can drink freely in the street, wearing face paint, smoking, the more the better and above all, touch bubucelas until you drop".

En cualquier caso: "Carnaval, carnaval, carnaval: TE QUIERO!!!"

Domingo. Domingo que para mí ha sido como un lunes. Hacía tiempo que en la cafetería no estabamos tan ocupados (recuerdos mis primeros días...). TODO EL MUNDO QUERÍA COMER CON NOSOTROS HOY! No me ha dado tiempo a aburrirme y eso sí, las horas del reloj han pasado rápido.

Después de un día de mucho trabajo lo único que me apetece es estar en casa tras una reconfortante ducha, tumbarme en la cama y observar el cielo que además, hoy, está muy bonito. Parece mentira que se haya tirado todo el día nublado.

(Lo peor, es que me he perdido los carnavales de Notting Hill, con las ganas que tenía yo de ir a verlos...   :(. Bueno, no pasa nada! Así me he librado de estar todo el día esquivando gente).

Sunday. Sunday for me has been like a Monday. For some time in the Coffe Shop we weren`t so busy (my early memories...). EVERYONE WANTED TO EAT WITH US TODAY! I have not had time to get bored and yes, the clock hours passed quickly.

After a busy day all I want is to be home after a refreshing shower, lie down in bed and watch the sky also, today, is very nice. It seems incredible that is lying around the cloudy day.

(The worst thing is I missed the carnival in Notting Hill, with the desire that I had to go see them ... :(. Well, nothing happens! So I escaped being all the day dodging people).

Septiembre está a la vuelta de la esquina. Y con el nuevo mes,  el nuevo curso, nuevos proyectos, nuevas formas de ver la vida,... Y mi blog también cambia de "look" y  hasta de nombre. Y es que, después de llevar aquí cuatro meses me he dado cuenta de que ya no estoy lost in london (todavía un poco lost in translation ;s). Ahora i live in London every moments; laught in London every day and love in London beyond words.

Espero que os guste el nuevo aspecto del blog, que ahora formará parte de ... all good things ...  (al que también le he lavado la cara) que como veréis una líneas más abajo incorpora la modalidad "texto en inglés" (para que vayáis descubriendo mis avances con la lengua inglesa).

   Nunca olvidéis que lo importante es VIVIR, REIR y AMAR.

September is just around the corner. And with the new month, new year, new projects, new ways of looking at life ... And my blog also changes the "look" and even name. And, after taking four months here I realized that I am no longer lost in london (still a little lost in translation ;s). Now i live in London every moments, Laugh in London every day  and love beyond words... in London.
